Responding to big demand, monthly average truck rates for refrigerated freight climbed again in December to reach an all-time high, according to the DAT Freight Index.  The monthly national averages for both dry and refrigerated (“reefer”) van rates were the highest of 2017, according to the index.

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, avocado usage and markets will increase for the highest usage of the fruit for te whole year.  An awful lot of guacamole gets made for Super Bowl parties.

Florida vegetable crops are recovering after the cold spell two weeks ago.  Harvests are increasing and pricing is coming down on most items.

Tomato pricing is easing back downwards with increased supplies coming from Florida and Mexican fields.

Last week’s snow reminds us of the need to have an emergency contact phone number for all of our customers.  Good communication allows deliveries to come on time and for us to know if you’re open.
